BLU-3 SUPPORTS EMPLOYEES’ WELLBEING WITH BS2B INITIATIVE
Leading specialist multi-utility and civil engineering company, blu-3 (UK) Limited, is investing in its employees’ mental wellbeing through the Building Site to Boardroom (BS2B) Initiative.
BS2B is an organisation which offers mindfulness and self-awareness training for those working in the construction industry. Created by therapists, builders, developers and company owners who understand the industry’s needs, pressures and challenges, the training aims to create a culture change that will bring about happier, healthier working environments, safer conditions and improved relationships.
Liane Nunn, blu-3 learning and development advisor, said: “blu-3 is committed to investing in employees’ mental and emotional wellbeing. It is extremely important for us that our employees are happy and healthy in and out of work and offering support in positive relationship building is key to this.
“We wanted to equip workers to better manage stress and challenges such as working away from home for extended periods of time in frequently pressured environments, and to develop healthier mind sets with greater personal resilience and communication skills.
“As soon as we heard about the excellent work BS2B do we were keen to implement it at blu-3. Some staff have already begun the training, including the company directors who have recently completed a two-and-a-half-day course. It is wonderful to see the positive impact it has already made on employees at all levels.”
A range of emotional wellbeing support will be offered to blu-3 employees, from courses to online training, and by November 2017 all staff will have completed some form of mindfulness training. The initiative will be officially unveiled at blu-3’s launch party for the company’s new premises in Aylesford, Kent in October 2017.
blu-3 chairman, Danny Chaney, said: “We are a family-run business where the wellbeing of each and every employee matters deeply to us. We hope the BS2B training will prove helpful to all staff, and are sure it will enhance personal relationships and create healthier working environments.”
