BLU-3 REITERATES THE IMPORTANCE OF SAFE ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION

Specialist infrastructure provider, blu-3, has reiterated the importance of sensible alcohol consumption to ensure that all of its employees know their limits and stay safe.

The Alcohol Awareness ToolBox Talk (TBT) saw blu-3 touch on various aspects of the alcohol debate including, the effects of drinking on the human body, the importance of personal safety, and the results and implications of excess consumption.

Shane Fay, HSEQ Director, comments: “Despite the prominence of alcohol across the typical person’s social calendar, the dangers regarding excessive consumption and latent effects are often forgotten.

“The TBT on alcohol awareness was designed to make our staff acknowledge the importance behind their alcohol intake and encourage them to make health-conscious decisions.

“All our staff are liable to random drug and alcohol testing at any point; if someone’s social activities influence their ability to work, then it presents a severe health and safety risk. Construction is a high-risk environment, we are aware of the importance behind personal safety and firmly believe that educating our workforce is an effective method to develop a harmonious and a less hazardous working environment.

“As a large-scale UK employer, blu-3 actively invests in the well-being of its staff and seeks to provide them with the information they require to reach their full potential. We don’t want to be the H&S police, we want to help educate our teams and see that they go home happier and healthier every day, with more knowledge that can help their work and home life.”
