I joined blu-3 back in 2019 as a Document Controller after completing my degree. I love working for blu-3 because of its corporate culture, overall dedication to employee wellbeing, and I enjoy feeling like part of a family.

I am actively involved with the blu-3 multi-utilities department in the UK. I create and enforce processes and procedures that enhance operational efficiencies across the business, ensuring projects meet the needs of the clients and the high-quality standards set by blu-3.

The recruitment process was great and was fully explained to me by the recruitment team, so it was clear what to expect. I would encourage anyone thinking about a career with blu-3 to go for it! You won't regret it!

I like to keep fit outside of working hours and regularly use the blu-3 gym facilities at the head office in my spare time.

Jaime Perez

Head of Consultancy and Planning

I recently celebrated my fifth anniversary at blu-3 after joining the company in 2016. Before working for the company, I gained a wealth of valuable knowledge by achieving an engineering degree and then subsequently working as a Project Manager, Site Manager and Construction Manager for companies worldwide – skills that I continue to use at blu-3.

Due to the nature of my role, I spend a lot of his time leading a team of planners and promoting project controls in both live projects and tenders. I believe that blu-3 is like a family, and the company provides the perfect environment for all colleagues to demonstrate their potential and further their careers.

I'm expanding my knowledge and experience while working for blu-3 feel there are always opportunities to further your career at the company. For those seeking a job at blu-3, I think that if you are up for a challenge and love to contribute and have your say, you will go far.

Ronan Guerin 

Project Manager

I joined the company in 2016 and currently work as a Project Manager for blu-3. My role generally involves planning works labour, materials and equipment, supporting the commercial team and assisting site and office staff on everyday issues. I am also responsible for maintaining health and safety standards and delivering a finished product to a high-quality standard.

Throughout my time at blu-3, I have received training or support when needed, and the business always accommodates any training requests. Our health and safety staff are also mental health first aiders, and they are always available if you need to talk, which has been a massive help for many colleagues during the pandemic.

I like working for blu-3 because my colleagues and upper management are a pleasure to work with. It’s also nice to see the growth of the company and the opportunities that arise from that.  

My experience at blu-3 has been amazing, and that’s the consensus from my colleagues. There are excellent opportunities for every role as the company continues to grow, so the future is very exciting for anyone wanting to join! 

Darren Verge

Commercial Director for UK Utilities and Civils

I first joined blu-3 in 2017 as the Commercial Director for Utilities. Since then, I have progressed to become the Commercial Director for UK Utilities and Civils. The company has seen encouraging growth during my time here, which has resulted in my role expanding significantly.

During my journey at blu-3, the company has continually helped me develop my skill set to ensure I can carry out my role to a very high standard. Workshops, programmes, and developmental schemes have enabled me to progress my career, and the company’s core values will ensure I never fall short.

blu-3 is always striving for continuous improvement, and this filters down into staff training and development. We have several training and development workshops yearly across the company for all levels and have a blu-3 internal development programme that is company-wide. The business sees this as a critical area of success in progression by upskilling their staff, creating a great working environment.

Oliver Nunn

Project Manager

I officially joined blu-3 in 2017. I started out my time as an assistant site manager progressing into the role of site manager and eventually on to my current role as project manager.

Since joining blu-3, I have been offered full continued support with my personal development, whenever I have requested it and have now completed 2 qualifications: An HNC in Construction and the Built Environment and a Level 4 NVC in Project Management.

It is clear to me that blu-3 is heavily invested and committed to the development of its employees. Along my journey, I have seen a number of colleagues promoted from within in a similar way that I have. In addition to this, the company has a fantastic apprenticeship programme so there is always an opportunity to learn and further your skillset.

Without the continued support of my colleagues and mentors I do not feel that I would have progressed at this pace. blu-3 is the ideal environment for nurturing talent and enabling people to get the best out of themselves.

Chloe Kite

Trainee HR Business Partner

I began my career with blu-3 in 2019 as a Recruitment Apprentice. I am now a Trainee HR Business Partner, which is all down to the support blu-3 has given me via training and development courses, expanding my knowledge and progressing my career. I have completed several training and development courses during my time here, including a Level 3 NVQ and a CIPD Level 5 course.

blu-3 is invested in its colleagues’ development. Everyone can undertake classroom and online training, not only for the mandatory requirements but also for the developmental areas they would like to progress within.

I can always speak with my team about areas where I think I could/want to develop and have always been provided with the relevant training to do this.

My training has been a vital area that has allowed me to progress at blu-3. Throughout my apprenticeship, I was not only able to gain knowledge but also necessary experience within the business.
